Are you an exceptional, hands-on accountant with experience at Director level? Looking for a new challenge with an entrepreneurial business where you can utilise your commercial awareness to help them grow?

About Our Client

Our client is a rapidly expanding and successful commercial nursery based near Peterborough. The business is both entrepreneurial and down to earth, with a team who are willing to roll their sleeves up and get involved wherever required.

About the Role

This role reports to the CEO and will have full responsibility for the financial management of the business and the wider finance team. Naturally, you will be expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on your findings to deliver the most profitable outcomes. You will be a key player in driving process improvements in the finance team as well as providing insightful financial analysis for the Board. You will provide leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy to optimise the company's financial performance and strategic position. You will also contribute to the development of strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a strong Finance Director with extensive experience gained in a comparable role, preferably within the fresh produce or horticulture industry. You will have significant knowledge of Private Equity deals and transactions. You will be hands-on and keen to be involved with all aspects of a fast-moving business. You will thrive under high levels of pressure and be able to make critical decisions. A full professional accountancy qualification is required (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) as is Board level finance experience.
