Head of Data / Python / R / £700pd (contract)

My client, a large public sector organisation are looking to recruit based on the onset of a significant project of work. On this occasion my client are looking for an experienced Head of Data on a 12 month contract based in London to oversee a small team of Data Scientists.

The Head of Data will be heading up a team of around 4-5 Data Scientists for a new project that is being rolled out in a few weeks. They will be responsible for planning and guiding the Data Scientists to ensure the project stays on schedule and is completed on time.

The main scope of the project is to improve the organisation of data that will be collected to ensure it is usable. The team are required to consider all the data elements that must move around a new application to enable all areas of functional and non-functional requirements.

Essential experience/knowledge the Head of Data will need are for this contract are:

• Experience managing a team (e.g. Data Manager, Head of Data).
• Data Modelling
• Python R
• Qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics).
• Previous hands on experience as a Data Scientist
