How often do you get the chance to tell a meaningful story?

About us

We are a successful, progressive housing association, but we don’t just provide housing. We help create communities. We bring people together by running and supporting a wide range of community activities, helping to improve the opportunities and independence of our customers in the wider communities in which they live.

We are doing excellent work, recognised and celebrated for the calibre of our services, underpinned by the strength of our governance and our financial stability.

However, we’re never happy resting on our laurels, and we need to take a different approach to promoting our organisation and the way we present ourselves and our work with others.

About the role

As a result of adopting our new Corporate Strategy 2025/30, we are creating an exciting new role to help make a radical change to the way we communicate.

We need to let people know more about what we do and what we stand for. We need to make our communications more cohesive and strategic. And we need to use this to form mutually beneficial partnerships with a range of stakeholders to help our residents and communities across the Oxford-Cambridge Arc in which we work.

Such a different approach requires a radical change in our communications delivery. We are looking for someone who can tell our story so that people can be inspired by what is so special about our work and our customers.   We need a visionary communicator who can use the power of engagement to help create a brand that will place bpha at the centre of conversations about housing and homes, communities and the needs of the people that live in them and how people centric services should be delivered.

About you

This is an important role at the heart of our ambitions over the next ten years. We need an exceptional candidate with real-world strategic communications leadership experience, a flair for storytelling and a track record of creating partnerships. We recognise that talent isn’t confined to a certain sector or one part of our community, so regardless of your background, if have the skills we’re looking for and you want to join us in creating new communities, then we would love to hear from you.

Although this role is based at our Head Office in Bedford, our work is about what we do not where a desk is. Working from different locations to meet different needs is very much the way we do things but working directly with your Team and the people of the organisation will always be an important part of the role. The salary is commensurate with the seniority of the appointment. We offer fantastic benefits including a generous car allowance, BUPA and pension, plus a modern office with excellent facilities, free parking and easy road and rail links to London and beyond.

Closing date: 2nd November 2020 For an informal discussion about bpha and the role, please contact our retained consultants, Andrew Timlin (07887777735) or Claire MacLeod (+44 (0)7966 524037), at Hays Executive

The closing date for applications is midnight BST Monday 2nd November 2020.
