This Board appointment is with a well established, successful, privately owned award winning manufacturer which has significant growth potential. The company has a turnover of c.£20million, in excess of 100 colleagues and is the leading UK manufacturer of an innovative range of site safety products and solutions utilising plastic moulding technologies and recycled plastics. It supplies a diverse customer base, exports into c.30 countries and is looking forward to continued organic and potentially acquisition based growth over the next 3-5 years. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team and in addition to managing all aspects of the finance function you will also be involved in the development of strategy and working as a strong business partner to the Managing Director. The requirements of the role are many and varied and include both the financial and legal frameworks plus the IT function. There is an experienced finance team in place and the focus of the role is on delivering timely and accurate management accounts through an integrated team approach, budgets, cash flow management, cost control, MI, developing excellent external relationships and delivering process and systems improvements. You will also be involved in developing the 3 year P&L strategic plan, reviewing the treasury approach, evaluating potential acquisitions and monitoring external PEST implications and their potential longer term impact on the business. As an ambitious growing SME the need is for a hands on Finance Director who is technically strong, commercially astute and with a real feel for the business fundamentals in a manufacturer operating in a highly competitive growth market across a broad international customer base. A highly impressive candidate with experience at Finance Director level gained in a manufacturing environment is required. You will need to have a high quality university degree and an ACA qualification. Your early career will have been formed in world-class manufacturers and you will have migrated into a finance leadership role within an SME. As the company is product design and innovation led, you will need to be comfortable in an environment which combines world-class professionalism with an entrepreneurial hands-on culture. You will also need to be a strong team player, have excellent IT and systems knowledge including ERP, have strategic thought leadership skills and the ability to deliver change.
