Our client is a leading international investor across private equity, infrastructure, real assets and debt. They are seeking a permanent Senior Accounts Payable Officer to work as part of a team of 4, taking responsibility for the end-to-end AP process. The ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience working within the AP function of a financial services firm, and be keen to expand upon their experience within a fast-paced and dynamic business at the forefront of its field.

Description

  • Manage the accounts payable process for corporate entities across the group.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement best practise within accounts payable processes.
  • Take responsibility for the ongoing monitoring of the accounts payable and fund accounts payable email inboxes, identifying invoices for processing and responding to supplier and staff queries.
  • Review supplier and staff expense account details.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, ensuring adherence to the set internal controls.
  • Manage the automation of the accounts payable process, maximising efficiency. 
  • Manage the fund accounts payable process.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement best practise across accounts payable processes.
  • Review weekly supplier and staff expenses, payment runs and ad-hoc payments.
  • Review weekly cash projections to feed into the Treasury team's cash forecasting.
  • Liaise with the Treasury team to confirm funding availability for the fund. 
  • Ensure that weekly journals are prepared and posted in a timely manner.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of relevant balance sheet accounts in order to ensure their accuracy.
  • Provide documentation as required to auditors for group, corporate and SOX audits. 
  • Develop management Information to measure efficiency and lead the improvement of the AP function.

Skills

  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience working for a financial services institution.
  • Educated to GSCE level or equivalent. 
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to adopt new processes.
  • Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements.
  • Previous experience dealing with high volumes of invoices and expenses across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions, successfully prioritising tasks to meet deadlines, will be key.
