Head of Product Design - User experience GBP110,000

My client a major digital disruptor bank is on the hunt for a Head of Product design - UX to play a key role in their new digital transformation project.

What would you be doing?

  • Working with director of digital to see the overall design strategy for the team.
  • Understand business line road maps and define design strategy and principles.
  • Managing the team that delivers the design of all user-facing touch points across multiple products
  • Providing thought leadership and challenge to the business on design best practice and how to create amazing customer experience.
  • Maintain and update the Design System as needed for product design.
  • Maintain and update user experience design vision and design principles.
  • Manage a large Team of UX and UI professionals.
  • Work with the usability team to ensure that designs make sense to users and meet their needs.
  • Work with the UI Architecture team to either ensure that designs align with platform architecture and are implementable.
  • Ensuring that our design efforts are aligned with the brand.
  • Take responsibility for the creative direction for large projects (and rolling sleeves up when necessary).
  • Establish good practices for translating design into software products (for example, writing verifiable design requirements for UI designs)

Experience required for the Head of Product Design:

  • 10+ years experience as designer (individual contributor)
  • Previously have held a leadership role in a design team in a growing and forward thinking organisation.
  • Passionate about Digital Transformation.
  • Extensive experience of the design lifestyle, including requirements gathering, wire framing & prototyping, user testing and research.
  • Able to provide unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers .
  • A proven track record of successful delivery of designs ideally for customer journeys on web and mobile.
  • Digital banking/or Fintech experience highly desirable. 3+ years.
