Our retained client is a fast growing, venture capital backed online B2B platform.

Next year’s anticipated revenue is circa £15million.

It is seeking to float on AIM in the short term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-pilot to the CEO - partner, support and challenge the CEO around major business decisions
  • Provide significant input into business strategy and operational initiatives to deliver growth
  • Play a key role in fund raising activities
  • Manage relationships with banks and any other key financial stakeholders
  • Provide strong leadership to the finance team, ensuring the function is a hands-on business partner, proactively challenging and supporting the wider business
  • Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and revenue budgets based upon broad organisation goals and objectives
  • Ensure strong financial controls alongside accurate and insightful budgeting, forecasting, KPI & reporting processes to facilitate effective oversight and commercial decision-making
  • Develop and implement the financial, tax, capital and risk frameworks to deliver the company strategy
  • Oversight of all statutory and financial requirements
  • Drive the growth as an integral part of the executive team

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA preferred), degree educated with a strong academic profile
  • Proven CFO with strategic and commercial capability
  • Experience as an AIM listed CFO is desirable
  • IPO experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience within the Online Platform / Software / SAAS space
  • Experience of working within a sponsor-backed VC / Private Equity environment whilst not essential would be useful
  • Proven fund-raising experience is desirable
  • Has successfully implemented an effective growth strategy
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; demonstrating a track record of initiating and then delivering a strategic business direction
  • High calibre individual - curious, smart, high energy, and strong work ethic
  • High level of emotional intelligence, minimal ego
  • Positive, self-motivated and driven character with a clear desire to succeed
  • Approachable, with an ability to communicate and influence cross-functionally at all levels
  • Disciplined and rigorous, with a track record of delivery and accountability for results
  • Experience of managing senior internal and external stakeholders
