The John Laing Charitable Trust (JLCT) is a proactive grant maker and seeks out charities and projects to support which fit with its mission, particularly focusing on the areas of homelessness, community initiatives, education and disadvantaged youth. It supports charitable work in the UK, and also charitable work in communities internationally where the John Laing Group actively operates.

JLCT is now looking to appoint an outstanding Director to lead and develop JLCT further, and bring clarity and focus to deliver the strategic objectives and business plan as agreed with the Trustees. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role ensuring that a grant-giving organisation, with strong values and a unique heritage of national importance, both remains sustainable and continues to thrive in order to deliver the charity’s mission for generations to come.

Candidates will have led teams at an executive level and will bring strong finance and commercial acumen combined with an understanding of grant-giving and the philanthropic sector. A track record of leading and developing high performing teams, organisational management and building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be key.

The new Director will bring the financial management experience to oversee and run the Trust with confidence and will have a strong interest, empathy for and commitment to the heritage, values and aspirations of JLCT.
