New Street Consulting Group is partnering with one of the largest European consumer technology retailers in launching a new Health and Wellness category across their stores.

To aid this, we are looking to bring on board an Interim Category/Commercial Director for the sector who will be responsible for creating, delivering, and formulating the marketing objectives of the Health and Beauty business. Through leveraging internal resources and having a deep understanding of the business needs, he/she will collaborate in designing the launch strategy and implementation in a test country/store.

He/she will serve as the primary link between the retail organisation, the marketing channel stakeholders, the creative team, product/tech organisation, and vendors.

This role will be instrumental in supporting and shaping the development, evolution and execution of the marketing vision and strategy for a rapidly expanding and evolving category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategic design and execution of an H&B business category, initially in a test store and then global roll-out.
  • Develop a business plan, detailing Product range and services, Competitive differentiates, Sales, costs and profitability, Category strategies & customer journeys, Marketing plan, and Store design.
  • Together with the VP Category Management, develop a robust long-term sales strategy and an actionable road-map to make it a reality through stakeholders and vendors.
  • Partner with internal agencies to design and implement Direct Response approach, testing, and accurate definition/measurement of metrics; continuously optimise spend and performance marketing metrics. \Partner with Digital Marketing to forecast revenue and track ongoing deployment of the budget by media teams.
  • Lead implementation of campaigns.
  • Work with creative to ensure timely delivery of high-quality assets, from writing insightful briefs to submitting creative requests and providing data-backed feedback.
  • Coordinate with seasonal team and category owners.
  • Evaluate key marketing KPIs (traffic, conversion, revenue, ROAS, CPA, etc.) to provide insights that enable quick iteration.
  • Develop weekly marketing decks reporting results to the retail team.
  • Report weekly on campaigns and tests, developing insights that can be quickly used to optimise marketing spend.
  • Develop knowledge of the latest innovations and opportunities impacting the marketing landscape, our partners, and our competitors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of consumer habits (online and offline) and approach the health and wellness category with an omnichannel mindset.
  • European travel will be essential for any potential roll-out.
  • Possess strong organisation and project management skills to keep all parties on track and ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Build strong relationships with retail, marketing channel partners, and creative teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Expert in Health/Wellness ideally as a Head in a leading retailer.
  • Deep understanding of the Health & Wellness industry and its future direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing.
  • Experience in B2C performance marketing, management consulting, brand management, and/or marketing analytics is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the key H&B players, vendors and service providers is an advantage.
  • Strong analytic acumen, with the ability to understand and analyse performance, optimise plans, make quick decisions and measure impact on the business. Willingness to "get hands dirty" and analyse details where necessary.
  • Sharp creative eye, experience testing messaging and creative.
  • Proactive, curious, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects & priorities.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • Customer mindset with knowledge/interest in retail.

This role requires extensive European travel and will have the opportunity to become a permanent position.

Experience in consumer health tech products is essential, applicants without in-depth sector knowledge will not be progressed.
