This is a new senior role for an experienced general manager and operations professional to lead the establishment of a major new aftermarket business unit with a very hands-on approach and then deliver on its significant planned growth objectives.  The client is a c. £130m specialist manufacturer of high-value products that are sold through an established international network of specialist dealerships and distributors.  It has a large product range in aftermarket parts and it is making a significant investment in a multi-site state-of-the-art warehouse, distribution, order fulfillment, and customer care business unit which has significant potential for growth.  The role reports to the Directors and carries responsibility for tactical hands-on execution, building, and leading this business.  The focus of the role is to design, build, and develop the right infrastructure, processes, and systems that will deliver excellent service to every single distributor and customer.  You will build the team, implement a new spare parts system that integrates with current business workflows, and also ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety, compliance, and employee engagement.  A highly experienced General Manager with proven experience in start-ups and aftermarket parts is required.  Graduate qualified and with training in a world-class company, you may also have additional qualifications relating to the warehouse, distribution management, logistics, or supply chain.  You will also have a passion for customer service, optimising the effectiveness of your team through delivery fulfillment and leadership and you will enjoy the associated budget accountability.  You will have worked for a manufacturer and have the project management skills required for the role of this complexity and nature.  You will ensure that operational decisions align with the long term strategic objectives, always striving to protect Aftersales and Servicing as an important revenue stream.  With regard to products and sectors of interest, you will have deep knowledge of parts operations and in terms of products, this could be wide-ranging including agricultural, tractors, trailers, specialist vehicles, plant, machinery, or capital equipment.  This key role within this market leader carries considerable challenges and real scope to make a difference.  The salary and benefits reflect the role’s importance and you will be expected to live within the region of the company’s head office in the North West.
