Our Values

Our values underpin everything we do and describe the way we expect our staff to behave towards our patients, families and carers and between each other. We have the following three values that contribute to our approach of compassionate leadership: Caring, Listening and Excelling.

About the role

The Associate Non-Executive Director (Associate NED) role is used successfully in the NHS to support board succession strategy and achieve a balance of board level skills. This is a developmental post for someone looking to take the next step in their career in strategic leadership and into what may well be their first board level role in the NHS.As one of the reasons for creating the role is to enrich the diversity of the Board, we are interested to hear from people who represent the diversity and richness of the communities the Trust serves and who have diversity of thought that can benefit the Trust.

In addition lived experience as a service user or carer would be especially welcomed, and we would provide support to enable you to develop into the role.We are looking for someone who can help us to make decisions which better serve the diverse communities we serve and we would hope that you would be able to learn as much from your time with us, as we learn from your experience and contributions to our board.

About you

We are seeking an individual with genuine commitment to patients and to the promotion of excellent health care services to help us achieve our vision for the Trust. As one of the reasons for creating the role is to enrich the diversity of the Board, we are not defining the required skills and experience; rather, we are interested to hear from people who represent the diversity and richness of the communities the Trust serves and who have diversity of thought that can benefit the Trust.

We are, however, seeking individuals whose values are aligned with the values of the Trust and who demonstrate the character and integrity to lead in today's NHS. The position requires committed team players, able to offer strong strategic ability, insight and the skills to challenge colleagues in a values oriented organisation.
