6 month interim contract from mid September 2020
Inside IR35 - £450 - £550 per day (via umbrella)

Full time (full remote working supported)
Skype / online interviews due to take place week commencing 14th September 2020

In order to drive their improve and transform their service offering to Children with Disabilities, an opportunity for an experienced Head of Children's Disability services with an immediate start has arisen for an initial 6 month period with a view to potentially extend further.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Social care and DCS in addition to building key relationships across Transitions and SEND services, you will be responsible for oversight and management 5 direct reports and staff within their respective services.

Your duties as Head of Children's Disability services:

  • Operationally lead, review and strengthen the CWD offering to service users
  • Service requires drastic improvement moving towards a specialist hub of case holding Children's Disability Social workers operating across all the locality teams with a child centric approach for outcomes.
  • Review of thresholds and Early Interventions offered to improve practice
  • Links directly to partners in Health & SEND focusing on the development of relationships, pathways and additionally Early Help offering for those accessing service but not requiring CP plan.

Experience needed as Head of Children's Disability services:

  • Social work qualification and ideally active Social Work England registration
  • Stakeholder engagement and ability to strengthen relationships
  • Ability to produce succinct reports and bring to executive leadership team with recommended plans for progress
  • Robust understanding of CWD service offering
  • Sound understanding of budget management and financial constraints within the service.
  • Transformation and change management
  • Understanding of service provision - short breaks, permanency planning and assistive living across SEND/Health.
  • Hands on approach to management
  • Available references for most recent 2 year's roles.
