Senior Procurement Manager: Supplier Management

As our lead officer for supplier management, programmes and innovation, you’ll play a pivotal role in this. Supporting the council to develop truly innovative and collaborative relationships with our key suppliers, you’ll ensure we excel where many organisations struggle – ensuring commercial, social and environmental benefits are delivered throughout the whole lifecycle of contracts.
As the lead for our new contract management framework, you’ll work with all areas of the council to ensure our commercial relationships are effective, innovative and provide outstanding value for money. You will also take up a wider brief across the division and wider organisation to provide leadership, coordination and oversight of strategic programmes and projects related to commercial strategy, supplier relationships, contract management and procurement This is a transformational role, about disrupting the status quo and envisaging new levels of excellence. Westminster has the ambition and appetite to be world class at supplier management – and this is your chance to help make it happen.
We’ll be looking to you to provide outstanding leadership around cross-cutting programmes and projects in addition to ensuring expert commercial advice to support robust contract management and complex negotiations. You may have hands-on experience of managing complex contracts and/or change programmes, or may come from a consulting background. What’s crucial is that you have expert commercial acumen and outstanding relationship management skills and can apply this to a public sector environment with £700m of third party spend.
You may be new to local government. This isn’t a problem, so long as you can adapt best practice contract and supplier relationship management to the diverse and vital services the council provides. To do this, you’ll be a natural problem solver who brings exceptional project management, influencing and communication skills.
