This market-leading materials manufacturing business based in Derbyshire is offering a great opportunity for a Head of Maintenance to support the next stages in the business growth

Description

The successful Head of Maintenance will be expected to deliver and execute a robust maintenance program working with all department to harmonise and work towards the main business objectives

They will have the following ability:

  • Able to line manage and develop team of maintenance engineers (electrical and mechanical)
  • Confident in supporting the management of the Environmental, Health and Safety management systems
  • Comfortable with numbers and can manage all aspects of Engineering costs, including spare part inventory
  • Able to manage all relevant site contracts and associated contract workers working on site
  • Can autonomously liaise with the company's corporate and centralised functions where relevant
  • Can compile and report relevant data for local and corporate use
  • Experience in taking ownership of all Engineering and technical projects and ensure that all project deliverables are achieved in agreed timescales
  • Able to drive continuous improvement and best practice initiatives in the key elements of manufacturing performance to support the wider business
  • Manager all aspects of refurbishment and replacement of process equipment to support the Operations team in delivering optimised Plant Availability and Throughput.
  • Deliver a maintenance strategy derived from OEM recommendations, implement a regular PPM schedule, and continuously review asset performance to minimise breakdowns.

Profile

The successful applicant will be:

  • Relevant management experience, within a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience with working with various materials would be advantageous
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineer qualified to minimum HNC level or above (Degree Preferred)
  • A track record in creating an inclusive maintenance culture
  • A strong LEAN toolkit with experience of Six Sigma (Green Belt would be preferred)
  • Good verbal communication skills, to ensure effective communication across all levels internally and externally
