Livv Housing Group is an independent housing association, providing affordable, quality homes for around 25,000 people across nearly 14,000 properties in Knowsley, Merseyside. We are a community-based social business, and we play an active part in the alliance of housing associations working in the Liverpool City Region. We’re about much more than building and managing homes: as a business dedicated to achieving positive social impact and flourishing communities, we want to bring people and neighbourhoods together to create better opportunities to grow, develop and thrive.
Independent Committee Members play a vital role in scrutinising key areas of the Group’s strategy and operations, and these opportunities have both general and specific responsibilities. In addition to applying your expertise at Committee level, we’ll ask you to make an organisation-wide contribution to our governance and to be an ambassador for Livv Housing Group.
If you join the Audit and Risk Committee, you’ll oversee the internal and external audit functions for the Group, including systems of risk management and internal control and our compliance with statutory and regulatory duties. Candidates should bring extensive experience of strategic risk management, as well as systems of internal control and assurance. A good knowledge of internal and external audit functions is essential, and you should understand regulatory frameworks and compliance. Broad experience within a commercial environment is a must.
The Business Development, Growth & Investment Committee seeks two members with the skills to oversee the strategic direction of the property portfolio, including the development, acquisition and / or disposal of assets. We also consider capital expenditure programmes and growth initiatives. Candidates must bring experience of analysing and assessing investment proposals, and of taking a strategic perspective in decision-making. You will be expert in business growth or development, and will understand transformational change in a commercial environment.
In either role, you will be accountable for delivering the relevant Committee’s Terms of Reference, adding value to its work through your experience, specialist expertise and insight, and sharing responsibility for its decisions. It will be important that you can build a constructive relationship with colleagues across the organisation, and you’ll also ensure that the voice of our customers is heard at every level of our governance. There are around 4 - 5 Committee meetings each year, lasting around 3 - 3½ hours, and preparation time is essential.
