Mental Health Innovations
Trustees
Unremunerated
12 days a year; London
Founded in 2017 with the support of the Royal Foundation, Mental Health Innovations (MHI) is a digital charity with the express purpose of transforming lives by improving access to helpful digital resources for mental ill health in the UK. We combine digital innovation, data-driven analysis and the experience of mental health experts to develop new ways of helping people have conversations about mental health.
Working in close partnership with charity partners, academic institutions and the corporate sector, we exist to harness the power of technology to reach the millions of people, especially young people, who feel isolated and alone, and help them to find the right time and place to talk. In a little over two years, we have grown rapidly, benefiting from a dedicated staff team and a cohort of over 2,000 fantastic volunteers (in both the UK and New Zealand). Our first project has been the successful development of Shout, the UK’s free 24/7 text-based crisis service. More such innovative projects are in the pipeline.
We are now looking for trustees to join our Board. We know there is still a great deal to do. We know our work makes a difference. This is why it is such an exciting time to join us. To help us achieve even greater and more sustainable outcomes, we are now looking for a range of complementary senior individuals with experience in one or more of the following: clinical mental health, ideally within an NHS or local authority setting, data science, or strategic communications.
As we change and grow, it is vital that we retain the same sense of community and energy in the charity as we did in our ‘start up’ phase. You will bring creativity and purpose, as well as a track record of leading through rapid change. In accordance with our ethos and values, you will be prepared to speak up objectively and with integrity, to demonstrate your independence of thought and judgement, and to act with curiosity, courage and inclusivity.
We are keen to hear from a diverse range of individuals, both those with prior governance experience and those without. We would encourage anyone who feels they can bring value to the charity to please visit our microsite: https://search.green-park.co.uk/mental-health/role-profile-trustees/
For an informal discussion about the role or selection process, please contact Kai Adams or Miles Mackie on 0207 399 3991.
Closing date for applications: 08:00am Monday 21 September 2020.
