PSR, Panel Chair

An independent economic regulator, the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) plays a really important role in people’s day to day lives: Every time anyone uses a cash machine, transfers money, uses contactless, or gets paid, they use a payment system. The world of payments is fast-moving and ever-evolving, and the PSR challenges the industry to adapt by supporting innovation and improving competition so that the UK benefits from world-leading payment systems.

The Payment Systems Regulator Panel (the Panel) exists to provide support and constructive challenge to the PSR. Independent to the PSR, the Panel’s remit is to contribute towards the effective development of the PSR’s strategy and policy and offer advice and early input on its work.

The PSR Board are looking to appoint a new Chair to lead the Panel at an exciting time of development for the UK payments ecosystem. They will be responsible for chairing an experienced group of leaders and experts drawn from service providers, service users, infrastructure providers, sponsor banks, consumer organisations and government.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Ability to lead a group of experienced individuals to provide advice and deliver constructive challenge on complex and wide-ranging issues
  • Sound understanding of payment systems and their role in relation to the broader economy and an ability to understand the impact of PSR policy and regulation on systems, providers and users
  • Experience of building strong relationships, communicating and influencing across a diverse stakeholder landscape

The application deadline is midnight on Sunday 20th September.
