With revenues of close to £30 million our client is supported by a well regarded private equity house. Previously owner managed it sources, markets and distributes innovative branded and own label products to a broad customer base encompassing “blue -chip” household names to independents. To support the Chief Executive and board including Non Executives and the Chairman in achieving strategic objectives but also to drive a “best in class” Supply Chain and Operational infrastructure, we seek an interim Chief Operating Officer. 

Working closely with the CEO the individual appointed will be tasked to maintain excellent performance in delivery, support and ongoing development of customer technology services, will drive the team to continually measure and improve customer perception of the business’s services and will improve efficiency by focusing on eliminating operational failure together with maintaining customer confidence and providing access to all the company‘s services. He/she will review roles and responsibilities in order to maximise operational efficiency and enhance internal budgeting, planning and control procedures and provide leadership and management. The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the “end to end” Supply Chain and Operations encompassing sourcing, logistics and purchasing. 

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of operating successfully as a Chief Operating Officer or if not as a Supply Chain or Operations Director in which he/she can demonstrate providing the highest service levels to support a diverse product range with a focus on value for money, quality and service underpinned by a sophisticated on line proposition. The individual to be appointed will be a leader with excellent influencing skills, highly customer centric and be independently minded and capable of making tough decisions. He/she will be a business leader and comfortable in an environment requiring quick decision making, market responsiveness and an “action centric” style.
