My client, a leading global insurance company, is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the claims management operations for one of their specialist service lines.

The Operations Director is key in ensuring the quality of service delivery across the business unit and has responsibility for managing all operational issues including; productivity, people resources and client service requirements.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of claims processes
  • Knowledge of the insurance market
  • Understanding of Client SLA compliance/productivity/quality requirements
  • Working knowledge and experience of budgetary management and delivery

Key responsibilities:

  • Operational delivery against client and internal SLAs
  • Implement an effective QA function, ensuring this feeds into training, succession and leads to improved skill levels
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders; including customers, strategic partners, and external communities
  • Ensure operations are fully compliant with the company's procedures and external regulatory requirements
  • Develop, motivate and performance manage the operations team to ensure maximum engagement and operational effectiveness
  • Manage operational adherence to client requirements, including qualitative and service standards
  • Implement a resource planning programme to drive recruitment needs
  • Implement an effective recruitment programme, ensuring skills and resource levels are at required level
  • Implement a continuous improvement programme to optimise process flow and efficiency
  • Build and utilise a coherent set of internal measures to understand performance
  • Create and deliver against the People plan developed from feedback
  • Knowledge and expertise to carry out the role and grow own credibility in the market place
  • Maintain awareness of Business Continuity programme and role within it
  • Champion knowledge and/or awareness of FSA procedures and the TCF initiative
  • Identify training needs within team and deliver appropriate training programmes
  • Conduct and sponsor effective performance management of staff

General background, experience & professional qualifications:

  • Insurance qualification desirable, e.g. Dip CII, ACII, CILA
  • Solid understanding of the insurance market
  • Experience at management level within the financial services sector
  • Proven Operations Management experience
  • Solid experience of insurer client relationship management
