Paper Packaging - Vietnam

Go-Pak is a privately owned and rapidly expanding manufacturing and distribution business supplying bespoke disposable products and packaging for the Food Service, Cash & Carry and Retail sectors. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the company has ambitious plans to double its turnover to £100m in the next 3 years.

From its plastics and paper production factories in Vietnam, it supplies customers, including Bunzl, Pret a Manger and Greggs, in the UK, Greece, Europe and USA. The business now seeks an experienced Operations Director to take operational P&L responsibility for its newly built Paper Factory in Vietnam - a 24/6 operation employing 250+ people in a rapid expansion phase as it insources work from China. The person taking up this role will have strong, hands on, operational experience needed to guide a relatively inexperienced factory team in printing, single face corrugating, die cutting and paper cup forming. The role requires residency in Vietnam.

Reporting to the UK-based, Group Managing Director, this exceptional opportunity offers a high level of autonomy (but also support from the nearby sister plastics facility) and will see you leading and motivating the workforce through Production, HR, Finance, Supply Chain and Quality heads to deliver maximum efficiency and set challenging targets, which will result in a flexible, proactive environment, with a culture of continuous improvement.

Educated to a high standard and with a solid operations track record in a packaging or a similar progressive, high-volume, manufacturing environment, you must have a proven talent for increasing profits through efficiency improvement. Excellent team building and communication skills will be vital as you build strong, open relationships with your team, suppliers and senior colleagues alike. Relevant experience in Vietnam would be useful but is not essential, however, applicants must have high levels of written and spoken English and have previously run a European manufacturing facility.

All applications and contact from third parties must be made via our retained Consultants – McCourt Newton.
