Product Development Leader

itecopeople have been exclusively retained by Parnall Bio Engineering Limited, part of the Parnall Group, which is a unique and pioneering Group of Companies to appoint an experienced and entrepreneurial Project Leader to champion a pre-revenue project through product development and commercialisation of a new modular building technology.

The new to market product is a structural bio-composite panel system that utilises natural materials and includes integrated renewable energy technology. This factory fabricated system is intended for application across broad residential and commercial build programmes.

The Project requires someone preferably with some modular build experience to lead the existing design team and work closely with collaborative partners to champion the certification and market penetration of the solutions. The successful candidate will also work closely with the existing commercial team to help fulfil product sales.

The role will require a blend of work in the following areas:

  • Product testing and certification to regulatory standards
  • Assemble detailed designs packages
  • Sales and marketing support
  • Distribution
  • Finance
  • Renewable energy
  • Bio composites
  • Manufacturing and supply chain
  • Daily management of subcontractors and consultants

Overarching skill set:

  • Strong proven leadership and entrepreneurial style problem solving
  • Knowledge of the construction industry with experience in delivery of similar projects
  • Some experience in the management of modular projects
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Location – London with occasional visits to Head Office in the South West
  • Travel - intermittent travel will be expected

This is no traditional Project Management position, it requires an entrepreneurial flair, excellent communication skills, flexibility and determination, adaptability to work in a variety of sectors concurrently, and a passion for making a significant environmental impact, ultimately to provide solutions that will have a negative carbon impact.

This is not a technical role, rather a leadership and multi-stakeholder collaboration position, managing the products that have already been through extensive development and testing by the design team, and driving the business through market penetration and profitability.

As well as a competitive salary and package, it is anticipated that that there will be a growth share incentive directly relating to the success of the business, and ultimately the position of Managing Director.
