Head of Governance and Control - London contact - £1000/day

Harrington Starr is working with a Fortune 500 partner to build out their greenfield transformation project. Based in the London office, we are currently seeking an interim Head of Governance and Control to start immediately. The daily rate is £1000+ per day

Job Description:

• Lead the governance and controls on the Financial SAP project
• Ensuring regulatory and company risk appetite / requirements are translated into operational processes, understood and evidenced;
• Ensure the implications of any proposals / changes are understood, documented and implemented as required;
• Participate in all regulatory projects representing global operations;
• Act as a central point of reference for operational risk related queries;
• Embed, review and maintain controls, monitoring their effectiveness and enhancing as necessary;
• Provide support to local operations teams covering management of their risk registers and audit findings;
• Participate in all operational change programmes to ensure appropriate controls are embedded, understood and documented.

Your Profile:

• Financial experience in SAP transformations - ideally HANA
• Experience in comparable industries and operationally-sized organisations of implementing and positively exercising policies, procedures, and controls that illustrate rules of engagement, decision and ownership rights, and accountabilities for the effective management of risk across the organisation;
• Strong data quality background experienced in Business Intelligence, Data Management and/or Customer Relationship Management;
• Proven broad based business and technology skills in the effective application of information and data to drive business value;
• Ideally business and technical consultancy skills to provide a consultative engagement approach to support effective application of data quality;
• Proven ability to create, manage and develop a team;
• Strong business rules and reference data background in SAP or similar environments;
• Experience creating and implementing strategies to effectively define, capture, document and manage business rules and reference data;
• Strong written and verbal communication with demonstrable skills in influencing multiple stakeholders.
