Our specialist insurance sector client is seeking to recruit a new permanent IT Director to work from the London office. The newly-appointed IT Director will be tasked with introducing new technology into the insurance business, acting as a 'trusted partner for technology' at Board level and making a contribution to the development of a wider corporate strategy.
The IT Director will head up the IT department, which will consist of managing IT departmental budgets, technology budgets, management of teams of technical staff, developers and other IT related teams. The IT Director will also be the critical point of contact for the delivery of service, acting as a point of escalation when necessary.
The incoming IT Director will introduce a culture of technology change within the IT department as part of a process of re-aligning technology and IT service delivery following a period of significant business growth over the past 10 years. This will involve the delivery of a new IT strategy and technology roadmap which will outline the provision of IT services to both internal staff / IT users and the wider client base of customers. Delivery of business systems closer aligned to business needs along with working with development teams / DevOps to introduce new functionality and systems for the insurance business.
The incoming IT Director will need to be able to build strong working relationships with other heads of department, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders. The IT Director will in addition need to be a strong team manager, able to get the best of out staff and resources, managing teams during an exciting period of growth and change.
