All this will enable Motivation to be in the best shape possible to grow the long term impact for disabled people in developing countries.

Job Description

The key responsibilities for this Head of Finance and Compliance for Motivation Charitable Trust, based in Bristol include:

  • To be in charge of implementing the financial strategy of the organisational Change Plan
  • To support and advise the Executive Officers and Trustees/Directors in strategic decision making through maintaining an up to date knowledge of the financial climate and developments within the sector and by providing timely and relevant financial information and projections
  • Play an active role, alongside SMT colleagues to lead the long term strategic direction of Motivation as a global charity creating impact for disabled people
  • Provide a compliance service to support all functions (UK and Internationally) to comply with relevant laws and regulations and internal procedures
  • To take overall responsibility for the services delivered by the finance team, and to ensure appropriate, efficient and effective financial systems and controls are in place within the department and regional offices in order to minimise risk
  • Budgeting - Working with colleagues to prepare budgets that meet the Charity's and donors requirements while supporting global cost recovery. Oversee and finalise the preparation of annual organisational budgets in conjunction with the SMT and budget holders

The Successful Applicant

To be consider for this Head of Finance and Compliance role with Motivation Charitable Trust based in Bristol, you will have/be:

  • Fully qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Experience of accountability and reporting directly to Trustee/Director level
  • Proven ability to work in a calm and conscientious manner to conflicting deadlines
  • High level of accounting software and Microsoft Excel experience
  • Team supervision and management
  • Working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Navision

Desirable:

  • Personal experience of disability or experience of working with disabled people
  • Experience of working or volunteering in the international development sector overseas

What's on Offer

Base Salary up to £50,000

Permanent/flexible working considered

Annual Leave - 20 days per annum (plus statutory holidays and Christmas break)

36 hour working week
