Job Details

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving Engineering excellence across the facility. You will be accountable for the delivery of a safe and efficient Engineering function that delivers world class manufacturing standards.

Client Details

My client is a global FMCG business producing some of the world's best known and loved brands. It prides itself on innovation and has a very strong purpose around quality. Quality is at the heart of all it stands for and that is evident in the quality of its people, process and how it continually strives to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of its customers.

Description

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a small but highly talented engineering team. You will be responsible for leading and driving Engineering excellence across the facility. You will be accountable for the delivery of a safe and efficient Engineering function that delivers world class manufacturing standards. You will seek out opportunities to champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed them into the culture of the business. You will be part of the site leadership team. This team is highly engaged and collaborative and passionate about making the London entity of the global operation, truly the market leader in the region.

The key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Safety - Ensure that the safety of staff is maintained at all times
  • Leadership - Provide robust and inspirational leadership to your team developing your people in a way that they are connected to the vision and purpose of the organisation and understanding of the key roles that they play. You will identify skills gaps and provide additional support and training where required
  • Maintenance Management - Ensuring assets are maintained driving a proactive Vs reactive maintenance culture

Profile

As the Engineering Manager, you will be an inspiring leader. You will aim to maximise the potential of your team members whilst exceeding the needs and expectations of our valued customers and stakeholders. You will be working for a global business - however, this site operates with a great deal of autonomy. As a result you will need to carry out your role with little supervision and be able to truly own the strategic vision for your function. As the team is small in size (but huge in calibre), you will need at times to be "hands-on" when supporting improvement activities or coaching your team through ad-hoc breakdown scenarios.

Key selection criteria:

  • Continual health and safety mindset
  • Proven track record of engineering leadership (team leader, senior engineer, engineering manager) within a fast paced, FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Blend of electrical and mechanical skills

What's in it for you?

  • Opportunity to join a leading global business
  • Opportunity to lead improvement programmes
  • Opportunity to progress within the organisation
  • £45,000 to £52,000 (neg) DOE salary plus benefits
