CFO - PE Backed Branded Stock Distribution Company
Our client is a market leading international branded stock distribution business and specialist in the growing discounter market both in the UK and Europe. The appointment of a new CEO who is driving the transformation of the company from being an ethics led to cause led business with a new strategic vision focusing on technology and sustainability is delivering significant operational and cultural change through the business. As part of this transformation, he is looking to appoint a commercial, hands-on CFO who will bring rigour and structure to the finance function and company and help him deliver the strategic vision which will lead to a successful exit for shareholders of which the new CFO will be one of them.
As a business partner to the CEO, you will play a key leadership role in developing the company strategy and implementing growth, efficiency and sustainability plans with full responsibility for all financial matters relating to the business including bank relationships, interface with the PE investor, and recruitment, development and retention of the appropriate resource within the finance and operations teams at the appropriate time. You will provide financial stability through free cash management, financial forecasting and planning, oversee Operations departments (warehouse and logistics) to deliver efficiencies, sustainability improvements, good customer service and a safe and healthy working environment, and take ownership and contribute in any key area or opportunity that affects company reputation, colleagues, shareholders and other key parties.
We are looking for a highly ambitious, energetic, qualified accountant who wants to get involved in transforming the company into a much more sustainable one. This is a leadership role within a £50m SME and, as such, successful candidates can demonstrate their ability to lead the finance and operational teams whilst contributing to strategy planning, leading and driving change and managing other areas of a company. You will have the ability to identify and lead the implementation of various types of change: culture, process, systems, sustainability, projects, measurement, ways of working etc. With strong cash management, banking covenants and corporate governance controls and the gravitas to represent the company in a way that inspires confidence from our bank, current investors and potential future investors.
You will be an experienced and qualified Finance Director with time spent as a Board director. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of successful refinancing, restructuring and M&A in previous situations and of leading change and growth in SME companies. Experience of retail or manufacturing would be helpful, as would working in a Private Equity backed company.
