Our client has a long established track record of success and a market dominant position which is based on the quality of its products and customer service offering including aftermarket. The company operates at the high quality end of a very competitive marketplace. It enjoys a reputation for product innovation, manufacturing excellence and design capability with lots of new products coming through and is looking to grow significantly in the next five years. 

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join the senior leadership team of a c£130 million and growing specialist manufacturer of high value complex products which are sold on both a direct to end user basis and also through an extensive distributor network. Reporting to the Directors, the focus of this new role is to deliver an ambitious sales growth plan for the business. Achieving the targeted growth will require a comprehensive review and re-structuring of all sales contracts, systems and procedures.

You will be responsible for  managing and improving the performance of the distributor network, growing sales in both new and established territories and implementing a system of KPI’s that both reflects and improves sales performance. You will also need to ensure that a comprehensive world-class sales and after-sales service is delivered to direct customers. The company is looking to make this a long-term appointment integral to their future growth and is offering a salary and benefits package to reflect the quality of the individual required. 

The Person

 A high calibre individual who can lead from the front is required. Graduate qualified, your original training in sales will have been formed in leading world-class manufacturers of specialist products. You will be able to demonstrate progression through sales management to senior leadership team level, ideally for manufacturers selling high value products through distributorships, as well as direct to end users and this must also include both aftermarket and international experience. You will be able to demonstrate total absolute professionalism in running a sales team and have the operational capability, gravitas and leadership qualities to drive solutions and results. You will have a passion for customer service, distributor development and be comfortable working in a high quality world-class entrepreneurial, can-do growing environment such as this. 

You will be expected to reside within the North West UK and within reasonable commute of the company’s head office.
