Lead the Northern European regional sales team both tactically and strategically to achieve and surpass agreed sales budgets. Adopt a "hands-on" structured and proactive sales approach, with a focus on generating strategic and organic growth in both established and previously untapped market sectors. Strengthen the core sales infrastructure to create and nurture and a winning sales team.

Description

Regional Sales Director - Marine - Northern Europe remit:

Strengthen the core sales infrastructure to create and nurture a winning sales team.

With a focus on generating strategic and organic growth in both established and previously untapped market sectors.

Looking for a marine industry leaders with proven background in managing multi 10M annual revenues to:

  • Create and deliver sales forecasts, clear goals and objectives for the regional sales team, operating to agreed business plans, budgets and targets across the portfolio of industries served by the company
  • Develop and implement an effective sales plan for the region, constantly monitoring results and key customer strategies, ensuring reliable sales intelligence is procured upon which sound business judgements can be based
  • Drive "Sales Excellence" through the region ensuring a high sales conversion rate and lower cost per sale, through driving the use of CRM, change management and strategic customer focus
  • Cement business relationships at all levels within target customers to ensure that the company is appropriately aligned commercially, technically and operationally to take advantage of all potential revenue generating opportunities.
  • Lead sales and marketing initiatives and provide support as required to the commercial, bids/proposals and tender submissions teams.
  • Mentor, manage, motivate and develop the sales team directing them towards meeting all sales targets and objectives in a coordinated manner, whilst remaining responsive to the demands of a dynamic and growth orientated business
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships internally, working closely with colleagues ensuring current business performance is optimized, standards of customer service enhanced, and new opportunities fully exploited
  • Provide the senior level point of customer contact in relation to sales and customer support delivery and proactively ensure that all key customers are well looked after, and the company is responsive to addressing their needs
  • Constantly monitor market trading conditions and customer specific strategic and operational factors to ensure that current reliable market intelligence is procured upon which sales opportunities can be exploited and capitalised upon
  • Undertake to acquire and continue to develop a comprehensive understanding of our full range of services and capabilities and convey to customers any new developments which promote the company's brand for quality assets and top class service and safety performance
  • Generally, adopt a 'no surprises' approach to reporting and communication with the Regional Vice President and other Senior Managers and be prepared to challenge the norm in a constructive and proactive manner

Profile

Regional Sales Director - Marine - Northern Europe will have:

  • Proven years operating at Sales Director level in marine
  • Maritime industry experience essential/ adjacent marine/energy/offshore background would also work.
  • CRM experience essential/ Salesforce
  • Managed multi 10 million annual sales revenues
  • Change management/Strong leadership skills
  • Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint competence
  • Experience in large tenders/bid process
  • Capable of working on own initiative whilst being a key team player
  • Organised and disciplined approach to all aspects of the role
  • Adapting and responding to change
