Description

This Legal Technology Senior Manager role is based in London and involves:

  • Identify strategic opportunities to improve processes and streamline how the legal team functions through the continuous assessment of our policies, processes and tools
  • Manage our legal technology roadmap and own functional aspects of any legal technology system implementations and enhancements, including training the team
  • Evaluate and implement new technology solutions for the legal team e.g. matter management systems, eSignature platforms, contract lifecycle management solutions, document management and contract automation tools
  • Work with internal and external business partners to troubleshoot and resolve technology issues and create self-help tools, e.g. dashboards, toolkits, training sessions, Q&A, process flows
  • Develop effective metrics and KPIs for the legal team and the wider group to help us measure and improve performance
  • Set, monitor and manage the legal team's internal and external budget - utilising the ebilling solution Legal Tracker - tracking legal spend, accruals and matter budgets, and identifying cost saving opportunities
  • Report on legal spend and analyse data to understand how spend is allocated and to inform data-driven decision making
  • Main point of contact for legal panel invoice management
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance billing and payment processes and data quality
  • Assisted by the Legal Tracker Co-Ordinator, manage the invoice process, including audits, adherence of billing guidelines and financial controls
  • Develop playbooks on fee arrangements, volume discounts, value-added services, performance metrics and other data to assist the Legal Director to manage the panel firms
  • Collaborate with cross functional-teams (e.g. finance, IT, HR) and various business units, working with them to identify efficient ways of working and implement operational changes
  • Support and manage various ad hoc projects within the team as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with any specific legislative, regulatory, or contractual requirements

Profile

This Legal Technology Senior Manager role is based in London and requires:

  • Degree level
  • Some legal qualification or experience working within the legal market
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognising needs, solving problems, anticipating issues, developing solutions and driving results
  • 3+ years of experience* in the area of project management and legal technology - preferably in the legal field, in-house or law firm (*for guidance only, candidates with more or less experience who meet the role's technical requirements will be considered)
  • Experience of developing and implementing legal team technology solutions (e.g. eBilling, contract/document management, approval workflow, eSignature, knowledge management)
  • Experience of breaking down processes and designing solutions
  • Prior experience of developing playbooks and policies
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, deliver to deadlines/budgets and manage competing priorities
  • Proven track record of successful change management related to complex projects
