IT Director - Uckfield, East Sussex - £85 - £95k + Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our organisation and we are looking for an IT Director to join our already established IT team. The successful candidate will have overall operational responsibility for the delivery of IT services across the business. Coordinating support, analyst and developer teams to provide harmony and excellence in service delivery and delivery of projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities:

• IT Governance and overall management of the IT teams.
• Setting IT strategy in conjunction with business leads and the board.
• Defining and delivering agile tactical delivery models to support rapid growth and change.
• Responsible for technical architecture, Azure and Office 365 infrastructure and configuration and hands on management and development of the Azure estate.
• Reliable definition and delivery of IT BAU tasks.
• Design and delivery of comprehensive and effective system monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
• Design and delivery of infrastructure projects within Azure.
• Technical security best practice across the estate and compliance with the information security management system and related controls.
• Engagement with change control and risk management / mitigation processes.
• Technical business continuity and recovery plans and tests.
• Delivery of efficient customer focused service desks that meet the SLA requirements of the business and that channel project work intelligently from trend and commercial data.
• Working closely with the Software Development Program manager to ensure harmony between IT Dev and Ops.
• Budgetary control of IT licensing and purchasing.

Essential Skills:

• Strong leader with an approachable style able to motivate and retain technical staff.
• Strategic thinker, able to define agile tactical solutions to achieve strategic goals.
• Experienced senior infrastructure engineer with exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud.
• Proven track record of service desk management and excellent customer focussed service delivery.
• Excellent communicator able to explain highly technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Innovator - ability to think outside the box to design innovative, efficient and compliant solutions.
