RNOH Finance Director

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) is the UK’s leading specialist orthopaedic hospital. We provide specialised and complex orthopaedic and related care to patients regionally and nationally. Whilst some local services are also provided, 80% of our workload is defined as tertiary or equivalent and we are a national centre for specialist Neuro Musculoskeletal services. We work across two sites in Central London and Stanmore, the latter of which has received an enormous investment for the development of a new, state-of-the-art hospital that will reflect and enhance the medical excellence for which the RNOH is renowned. We are rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, we have a Research and Innovation Centre that works in close association with our main partner, University College London, and we have a history of leading on national initiatives, such as the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) Programme. This is an exciting time to become involved with the Trust and to help us on the next stage of our journey.

Our existing Finance Director has achieved promotion to a much larger Trust starting later this financial year, so we are looking for a new finance leader to join our executive board to support our continued development and success. The post holder will provide financial leadership on behalf of the board and be responsible for continuously improving standards of professional practice and promoting excellence in the provision of financial support throughout the Trust and interfacing with the wider system. The individual will help develop the strength and depth of leadership in the Trust and build on our positive staff culture - currently rated as the second best amongst all London Trusts. As a full corporate director, the post holder will also contribute effectively to how RNOH operates, work collaboratively with executive colleagues on organisational strategy and planning, and be visible and influential externally.

We are looking for an outstanding, values-driven and inspirational leader who can bring intellect and emotional intelligence to leading in a complex environment. You will have a successful track record in financial leadership and have the personal touch to empower our highly capable staff to innovate, drive sustainable change and fulfil their potential. You will be an exceptional communicator who can quickly develop strong relationships internally and with a wide range of external stakeholders. Fundamentally, too, you will be passionate about realising our vision to become a world-leading orthopaedic hospital with the best patient care and staff experience in the NHS.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 3rd November; however, the Trust reserves the right to close the position earlier should a sufficient number of applications be received.

If this sounds like you, then we’d like to hear from you. For a detailed conversation and to apply for this role, please contact Nicola Brooks, Partner, Executive Professionals on 07860 737 740 or by clicking on Apply.
