As an organisation we are continuing to grow and change; our new Chief Executive is driving an ambitious programme where leadership, commercial growth and technological advancement are flourishing. We are now looking to recruit a high performing executive to one of the most critical leadership roles in the UK and a position that is truly unique.

This is your chance.

Not only will you task the biggest airborne fleet in the government outside the armed services, but as the Director of HM Coastguard, you will have operational responsibility for the only National emergency service, the leadership of over 4,000 employees and volunteers across 360 sites, the largest signal network in the UK, ten air bases and increasingly, drone and autonomous vehicle technology.

This unique and career defining position will require:

  • The multi-site leadership experience that will gel', motivate and inspire large and diverse teams; interfacing successfully at multiple levels;
  • The resilience and intelligence to engage at the highest echelons across Government;
  • Strategic thinking to define a new chapter in our development and to fully engage all corners of the organisation with that mission over the next three years;

  • The problem-solving ability to resolve highly complex issues as they arise, with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • An appreciation of how embracing technology can support our future advancement;
  • The operational and budgetary experience to manage a ??multi-million business in a highly efficient manner.

This is a phenomenal opportunity to develop and drive a strategic change agenda from the highest level within a truly unique organisation. Our staff are committed and inspirational, our estate is unparalleled, and our work affects millions of people across the UK and its waters. Your leadership will help to save countless lives for years to come.
