Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern Worldwide operates programmes in Health, Education, Livelihoods and HIV & AIDs in emergency and development contexts.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Director of Finance and Operations to provide strategic leadership and management of the finance, human resource and compliance functions.

The Director of Finance and Operations is accountable for the day to day operational control of Concern Worldwide UK, providing leadership and management both as a member of the SMT and to Concern UK’s financial activities and key operational areas. Financial responsibilities include all statutory reporting, management accounting, and implementing systems for the financial aspects of donor reporting and grant management.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, and will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role
  • First hand experience of business planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Experience of producing SORP 2015 compliant statutory accounts and co-ordinating audit processes and liaising with auditors
  • Ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues
  • Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls
