Chair of the Board - TISA

  • London based, with some UK travel required

The Investing and Saving Alliance (TISA), an industry-wide membership organisation, has a unique opportunity for a new Chair to join our Board. The new Chair will play a critical role in supporting TISA to achieve its ambition of improving the financial wellbeing of UK consumers.

About TISA

TISA is a unique, rapidly growing, consumer focussed membership organisation.  Our ambition is to improve the financial wellbeing of all UK consumers by bringing the financial services savings industry together to promote collective engagement. We currently work with over 200 industry member firms to deliver practical solutions and devise innovative, evidence-based strategic proposals for government, policy makers and regulators that address major consumer issues.

We do this by focusing on good consumer outcomes and harnessing the power of our broad industry membership base to deliver practical solutions, new digital infrastructure and by devising innovative, evidence-based strategic proposals for government, policy makers and regulators. This holistic approach to address the major consumer issues uniquely positions TISA to deliver independent insight, promote innovation and facilitate good practice.

About the Chair role

We are seeking applications from experienced candidates to join our Board as Chair. Candidates will bring extensive board and chairing experience along with energy, passion and a commitment to our mission, vision and values.  You will have made outstanding contributions in the financial services industry and have prior experience working collaboratively with government, regulatory organisations (such as the FCA and PRA), and industry bodies. 

This role will require you to use your wide industry contacts to raise awareness of TISA’s major policy and industry infrastructure developments, as well as support the CEO and other TISA representatives with developing our strategy, growing our membership and achieving our ambition. You will also represent TISA at both our own and other major industry events to promote our association and our work.

These requirements will be in addition to the Chair’s usual responsibilities in leading the Board. This will include ensuring the Board’s effectiveness and good governance of TISA, recruiting and developing both Executive and Non-Executive Board members, setting the TISA Board’s agenda and leading Board meetings, and providing support and management to TISA’s senior leadership.

The role will likely require a time commitment of up to 12 to 24 days annually and will largely be based in London although a small amount of travelling in the UK will be likely.

Remuneration will be appropriate to the role.
