Self-employed, Home based - flexible global location

20 hours per week, part-time

The Chief Executive of the IMFRS is an exciting globally-focused role as you will strategically manage an international federation of research societies, overseeing the programmes, fundraising, marketing, community outreach and administration of the organisation.

As the leader and primary spokesperson of the federation, you will report into The Board, and support and guide the organisation’s mission. Taking responsibility for all legal requirements and financial obligations, you will ensure the robust financial health of the federation, as we move forward into our future 2020 strategy.

An influential and strategic thinker, you will have a strong and proven background in engaging with industry and potential sponsors within a non-profit setting, creating the right opportunities to lead a step-change in how the federation engages with business.

The role requires tact and diplomacy, as well as knowledge of the way in which federations and complex membership societies work, since the Chief Executive will need to collaborate with and motivate board members and member societies. Some knowledge and experience of medical societies would be desirable.

Our current Chief Executive is approaching retirement and this role offers the opportunity to build on the growth and development of the federation as the IFMRS continues to recruit new members to offer a diverse and fully international membership base.

The role is part-time for 20 hours per week and can be based anywhere globally, but some worldwide travel may be required.

The IFMRS is the International Federation of Musculoskeletal Research Societies. The IFMRS’ mission is to advance musculoskeletal research globally in order to prevent and treat musculoskeletal diseases by collaborating with international societies to share resources, raise public awareness and provide education.

Interviews will be held in Paris on 11th November 2019. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed for candidates invited to Interview.
