Broster Buchanan is working exclusively with a listed business that specialises in acquisitions across Telecommunications, Media and Technology sectors. The company is made up of five high calibre senior executives that have significant experience across the market and have an entrepreneurial approach to delivering shareholder returns. Since its founding, day to day finance and compliance activities have been provided by a high-quality outsourced provider. To best position the company for the next stage of its development, it has been decided to establish an in-house finance team that can grow and adapt with the business.

The primary appointment will be that of a Head of Finance who will support the management team and board in all aspects of finance and compliance for the business. This will include responsibility for hands-on delivery of financial operations, internal and external reporting, controls and compliance, FP&A and budgeting and company secretarial. Additionally, you will be involved in a variety of capital market and M&A projects depending on whether the company is buying, selling or fixing businesses. Significantly, the organisation is fast-changing and agile, and so for the right person there is scope to shape the role relative to the company objectives.

Given the unique nature of the organisation and the significant level of change the business experiences, it is important to find someone with the right approach and mindset who will thrive in this environment. The successful applicant will have the following experience:

  • Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and reporting experience in a UK public company
  • Some familiarity with M&A and capital market transactions, FP&A process and corporate secretarial
  • Empathy with a consumer-focused organisation, preferably within telecommunications
  • Resilient and effective communicator within excellent stakeholder relation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to be self-directed and comfortable working in a small organisation

As well as the opportunity to work with and learn from some impressive names within the industry, this role offers a competitive basic salary and package subject to experience, the ability to work flexibly relative to the business cycle, and a variety of softer benefits. The office is centrally located and requires limited travel.

This appointment is being exclusively managed by Broster Buchanan and all third-party applications will be forwarded to them for consideration. For further information about the company and interview process please apply and get in touch to discuss further.
