Chair of the Board of Governors

RGU's governing body is the Board of Governors, which is responsible for the overall strategic direction and governance of the University. It consists of both appointed lay governors from a range of sectors and elected staff and student governors.  Their role is to provide strategic guidance to the University’s mission in contributing to economic, social and cultural development through the impact of its demand-led educational and research agenda.  

We are seeking a candidate with a strong personal commitment to higher education and the values, aims and objectives of the University, to head our Board of Governors.

The Chair will lead the Board of Governors in ensuring the vision and ethos of RGU is upheld, while ensuring the university is under strong and effective leadership and adheres to good governance.

This will be a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in building on the University’s recent successes and positioning it for future strategic development.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and experience in leading on strategic issues within a complex organisation. They will also bring to the role expertise in areas relevant to the successful operation of a complex organisation, in particular in relation to finance, human resources, risk management and organisational change.
