The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC)

Just minutes away from the heart of London to the east and Heathrow and the Thames Valley to the west, Old Oak and Park Royal is London’s largest Opportunity Area and one of only two statutory Mayoral Development Corporations. Spanning three London boroughs, the Park Royal business park and the planned new HS2 and Crossrail station at Old Oak, OPDC has ambitions to deliver 25,500 new homes and 65,000 new jobs, supported by a recent award of £250m of Housing Infrastructure Funding.

As we gear up to deliver this vision we now need a Chief Operating Officer who will play a key role in shaping our plans and ensure that we operate to the highest standards of business practice.

The candidate

This is a key leadership role within the refreshed Senior Management team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the OPDC board and the Greater London Authority. You will be a natural and inspirational leader with a passion for achieving tangible results, shaping corporate and commercial strategies and managing the business processes and systems to deliver them.

You will have experience of operating at a senior level in a dynamic and fast paced environment, ideally in a political or public/private partnership sector setting. You will have a full appreciation of the importance of the highest standards of probity and good governance and will be comfortable working in an environment that brings senior politicians, business and communities together to achieve shared goals.

You will deputise for the Chief Executive Officer and have overall leadership of the Corporate Operations function which includes People, Finance, Governance & Operations.

This job is ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

In addition to an excellent salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
