My client, a London based social housing provider is looking for a qualified accountant to create significant improvements in the financial management of their commercial subsidiary (DLO), that provides repairs and maintenance services to the housing stock. They are required to have experience of working within DLO's or contractors previously.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be providing superior business partnering services to the DLO. As well as running the business as usual accounting, there is a requirement to improve the financial management as a whole, and many of the processes are paper-based. This will begin with the interim assessing the existing trading account, with the ultimate aim of constructing a new model with new systems and processes that are fully automated.
Some of the outcomes expected will be as follows:
- A strong working relationship with Property Services.
- New trading account model
- Swifter payments to contractors
- Automation of processes as well as identification of potential new systems for a long term solution
Its is essential that this individual has knowledge of contractor systems either having worked for a DLO previously, or for a social housing contractor. They will be very strong with systems and will have a natural ability to translate financial concepts to non finance staff.
