Thirteen Group

Chair of Treasury Committee

£12k per annum

Thirteen is a housing association with strength, capacity and ambition to deliver for our customers, who are always at the centre of what we do.  We are the largest housing association in the North East and among the biggest 25 nationally; owning and managing 34,000 properties in the North East region, 30,000 of them in the Tees Valley.

We’re more than a landlord; our scope extends to supporting vulnerable people with thoughtful and effective services, improving our homes and estates and building new places for people to live.  Our skilled colleagues and board directors work tirelessly to support 70,000 tenants and customers, bringing a breadth of experience and a can-do attitude.

This opportunity is a key non-executive leadership role within our Group. The Thirteen Board has four committees with delegated responsibility for specific functions to support the delivery of our strategic objectives, and we are looking to appoint a Chair to the Treasury Committee. We are looking for someone with professional finance / accountancy expertise, and ideally specific experience in treasury management.

This opportunity is for someone with the highest degree of integrity, who can bring strategic insight and challenge to our work, and who is passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. In the Chair’s role, you’ll ensure that our committees have a clear sense of purpose and accountability, supporting other Board members to take collective responsibility and achieve objectives. You must be able to influence decision-making, provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to inspire constructive debate around key issues. A strong track record in understanding and mitigating risk, and evaluating organisational performance to ensure economy, effectiveness and efficiency is also required.

This role is a unique opportunity to invest your expertise on behalf of others and to play your part in improving the lives of those in your community.
