I'm urgently recruiting an Interim Head of Development for my client, a registered provider of Social Housing. An initial 6 month interim role - keen to speak to candidates in the industry already, at Head of or Senior DM level. You will be responsible for the development and regeneration team, overseeing all development projects from cradle to grave including new business, delivery, sales and marketing.

As Interim Head of Development, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the business's regeneration, development and sales & marketing plans. You will lead and manage a small development team including sales in providing low cost affordable housing for sale and rent. Focusing on quality, cost and programme delivery as key deliverables, you will optimise the organisation growth in accordance with the strategy as set by the board and delivery plans agreed by the executive board. A key aspect of the role will be developing and maintaining effective relationships with the likes of Homes England, Local Authorities, developers, house builders, stakeholders and consultants.
Profile
The successful Interim Head of Development will have the following demonstrable skills:
- Proven track record within residential development, experienced already operating as a senior development manager or head of development within Property and Housing
- Experience working within a Housing Association or Local Authority development team
- Cradle to grave development experience, from inception through to completion, RIBA stages 0-7
- People management experience
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships (local authorities, developers, consultants etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of development process; planning, S106, laws, legislation etc.
- Commercially focused with ability to forecast, plan and manage project/internal resources and external suppliers
- Degree or professional qualification in property, development, construction or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Commutable to office in Berkshire
Job Offer
Competitive day rate, outside IR35.
NB: Full time role, 5 days per week, initial 6 month period.
