Job Details

This role would be to create, drive and implement strategy behind all food and beverage purchasing within the UK. With a high spend level (over £205m) and a large team to manage, this was role will be a real test for anyone and a strong procurement skill set is required. - The business cater to some of the most well known event's that the UK, including famous Sporting matches, Government functions and business conferences.

Our client is one of the UK & world leading catering businesses, with a portfolio of events that any other would be jealous of. They have catered for a range of events, from the national sports events to hundreds of UK hospitals. Only using the finest and most sustainable products, their food and beverages are to the industries highest standard and ensure that all customer service is always quality. The business culture is fast, dynamic and entrepreneurial. This role would require UK wide travel, but also offer a high level of home-working.

Description:

  • Flexible working location, with UK travel
  • Over £205m spend on meats, produce, fish, alcohol and soft drinks
  • Managing a team of 7 categories managers and indirectly managing all buyers in each category
  • Develop the strategy & long range income growth plan for all food & beverage categories
  • Developing key relationships with suppliers, which are maximised through conducting business reviews in line with supplier positioning and responsible for owning overall relationship
  • Using continuous improvement tools and processes to effectively drive sustainable business growth opportunities and maximise the overall commercial value from through the category development process
  • Ensure a strong market knowledge within the food & drinks industry and keep up-to-date on new products/methods/innovations within the hospitality industry
  • To review and manage the continual development of Preferred Supplier product baskets on a quarterly basis

Experience:

  • Significant Experience within the multiple food purchasing categories within the food service, hospitality or catering industry
  • Experience managing teams
  • CIPS Qualified

Job Offer:
