Our client works predominantly in the hospitality sector involved with fit out contracts for a range of hotel, bar, restaurant and associated clients. The business has some exciting and challenging growth plans over the next few years and as part of that, there is now a need for a new Senior Operations manager/Director to help fine tune the operational side of the business, as well providing strategic input to help grow the business. The candidate must also be prepared to manage individual projects as and when the required.

For the right individual who can add substantial value to the business, this is an opportunity to become a key part of the management team. Supported by the Management team, the Senior Operations manager will enjoy a significant level of autonomy and will have almost total responsibility for the operations of the business. There is the possibility for the right candidate to obtain equity in the business

Role Profile:

•To manage, organise and fine tune the operations of the business in order to make the business more efficient and profitable.

•Provide leadership of the operations team, setting objectives and targets. The appointee will be responsible for the development and support of the individual members of the operations team.

•Be an ambassador for the business building strong relationships with new and existing clients in order to maintain and improve client retention rates.

•Identify commercial risks within each account and provide viable suggestions on how to manage the risk identified, to ensure profits are maximised.

•Ensure that company policies and procedures are complied with and that documentation is maintained. Where deficiencies are identified initiate the appropriate corrective action.

Skills and Competencies Required:

•Must have proven experience and a working knowledge of operational management in the refurbishment and fit out industry

•Experience of developing and executing a strategic plan, in a robust and disciplined manner.

•Experience of working in an SME.

•Accomplished at conflict resolution, negotiation and other interpersonal skills.

•Strong commercial understanding with an attention to detail on all projects

•First-rate listening skills, strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

•Outstanding strategic skills and ability to provide strategic direction.

•Ability to demonstrate operational success in previous roles
