PROJECT DIRECTOR - PERMANENT - TOP TIER MAIN CONTRACTOR
£85,000 - £90,000 + package

An exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced construction progression to work for a leading UK Top Tier Main Contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the region.

The Company

Our client is a leading top-tier main contractor with office locations across the UK. The company is a top 100 employer and can offer structured career development to hard working and ambitious people. Operating across most sectors including Commercial, Education and Health on land mark new build projects. With a loyal and robust client base, the company has already secured a significant pipeline of work across the South West region for 2019. Typical projects are between £20Million - £70Million in value.

The Role

As Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the end to end project delivery on a £50Million project, including:
*Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, meeting cost and quality targets and standards
*Ensure safety targets and standards are maintained by knowing what safety excellence looks like and communicating safety with passion and credibility in order to inspire, motivate and lead the project team to achieve the vision
*Foster a continuous improvement culture by actively seeking input from all members of the project team and encouraging them to implement safety improvements
*Proactively manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations, and maintain long-term relationships
*Lead, manage and deliver operational excellence and efficiency through appropriate use of leadership indicator health check reviews through the Bid, Pre-construction and Construction phases of the project
*Utilise the principles of Lean Construction in the execution of the project, particularly Lean Visual daily management, collaborative planning and problem solving.
*Undertake the works in the most economic manner to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminaries losses; monitor and work to agreed preliminaries budget.
*Maintain continuous professional development to ensure appropriate technical awareness.
*Manage project handover and ensure defect free completion and support the strategy for the closure of snags during the defects period and obtain Certificate of Making Good within 4 weeks of the PC date.
*Lead and motivate the works team, provide clear direction and respond to queries to ensure delivery of a quality product.

The Person

The successful candidate will likely have;

*Experience as Senior Project Manager or Project Director working for a large Regional or National Main Contractor
*A steady permanent background and a demonstrable track record in delivering Construction projects more than £25Million in value as number 1
*Construction degree is beneficial
*Commutable within the Bristol region (may vary depending on project location)
