Head of Financial Management, Housing
We are recruiting for an interim Head of Financial Management within a highly-recognised London Local Authority to led a mid-sized team managing all financial matters related to Social Housing. The right candidate will have a blend of good natural leadership and development skills and a sound knowledge of the finances around social housing.
With a number of interesting challenges on the horizon, and some recent changes within the organisation still bedding down, the assignment should offer a broad scope of work and the chance to add value to the plans of the organisation going forward.
The right candidate will be familiar with the Housing Revenue Account and the Housing General Fund, and be familiar with the subject matter challenges what come with good housing management, from capital investment and new developments to repairs and maintenance and leaseholder charging. You’ll lead on ensuring sound and reliable month end reporting; the provision of financial advice to the executive team and ensuring adequate resource cover and usage across the team.
Your background will need to evidence an understanding of Social Housing in a Council setting. the right candidate will be a capable and accomplished manager, able to motivate staff and help them develop their skills. The role will run for 3-6 months to start with pending permanent recruitment, and has been assessed as In Scope of IR35.
