An exciting new opportunity to be the Head of Data Science for a well known global Data insights organisation. The role is to define and execute a digital transformation of data capabilities which will enable the company to transform into a people centric data insights company.
Reporting to the CTO you will be accountable for the design of the Cloud Platform, and other on-prem platforms, to meet the company's objective to use data for the benefit of customers and internal stakeholders by the design of platforms that store and process data.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop, deliver and roll out a long-term data strategy capable of supporting and sustaining the company's insight, analytical and reporting needs, bringing applying the latest trends in machine learning to enable the strategic goal of people centric insights.
• Be responsible for the data architecture blueprint, including platform configuration, standards and the development tool chain.
• Work with third party suppliers to deliver increments to the platform.
• Join our global team and collaborate with colleagues across the world.
• Analytical activities relating to the implementation of proofs of concept and technical trials.
• Further iterate the operating blue book for platforms, incorporating the appropriate governance model for internal teams and third parties.
• Platform governance operating model.

Your skills:

• Technical skills in Big Data and Cloud platforms used by a large enterprise for Data and Analytics.
• A very good technical awareness of technology and associated trends with a track record of keeping skills up to date as technologies change and evolve.
• Knowledge of the principles governing best practice in Platform Architecture, Management & Governance.
• Expertise in the build of data and analytics capability to create a 'data platform as a service'.
• A good technical awareness of technology and associated trends.
• An in-depth understanding of the challenges faced throughout the technology life cycle.
• Ability to 'think outside the box' to come up with pragmatic solutions
