Our client seeks Digital Business Partners, responsible for building strong relationships with IT and Digital teams, as a strategic interface with senior stakeholders in business units and functional areas. Facilitating the development of digital strategies, managing demand and governance processes, ensuring delivery.

IT, an important, enabling function at the heart of the company is aligning IT & Digital Services to more closely support the Business Units, assisting them in meeting technology needs and business demand. New roles as Digital Business Partners have emerged to join the IT Leadership Team, working as a strategic point of contact and providing lines of engagement from IT to senior business stakeholders.

As a Digital Business Partner you'll be responsible for building strong relationships with IT and Digital teams, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic interface with senior stakeholders in assigned business units and functional areas. Representing the needs and vision of the wider business into IT, you'll facilitate the development of digital strategies, manage demand and governance processes, ensuring delivery.

Responsibilities will include;

  • identifying digital and technology enabled innovation opportunities and ensuring Business Units have an aligned target architecture and data strategy,
  • engaging and building relationships with your key stakeholders in the Business Units, establishing the value that best application of technology brings for operational efficiency;
  • developing business cases, high level requirements and concept scoping, working with Digital & IT teams to facilitate responses, ensuring two way effective communication,
  • assisting with budget planning, highlighting risks and issues and advising on Policy, Security & Governance.

An interesting, challenging and evolving role for either a Head of IT, SME or Senior Business Partner, you'll have a full understanding of business strategies and have created IT & Digital portfolios, able to influence internally and externally, including partners, to ensure an optimal service. Of graduate calibre with a degree and/or business qualifications to include ITIL, BRMP, TOGAF, PRINCE2 & Agile, you should have;

  • significant IT & Digital experience, from a Business partnering or Head of IT role, in a large programme environment.
  • A broad technical background in IT infrastructure, architecture, applications & services, experience of ERP & Design Systems, key technologies; Windows, Networking, Storage, Security & Cloud.
  • Experience of determining need, developing business cases, navigating governance and delivery of services against a business strategy.
  • Knowledge of a highly regulated environment is important, with broad Architecture, Construction and Engineering industry experience and possibly BIM, a preference.
  • Excellent commercial skills are a must along with financial knowledge for forecasting and budgeting and management of multiple projects will be important, with the ability to view the business as a whole.

A proven record of leading and motivating people is required, along with the ability to achieve through others. Judgement with integrity combined with a level of gravitas, sound communication, commercial and presentation skills will enable a contribution at executive level. Committed to service quality and continuous improvement you'll be collaborative, analytical and systematic. Above all, a keen interest in market trends and the evangelism and delivery of new technologies is important.
