Communicate have recently been mandated to search for a Head of Financial Planning and Analysis for an established high street retail company that turns over in excess of £100m.

Our client have both a bricks and mortar and digital presence and are currently on an interesting growth trajectory due to some recent M&A activity. This hire will be viewed as crucial addition to continue this trend and would suit someone with a strong retail background and extensive experience within the world of FP&A.

Reporting into the Group Finance Director, this is a high-profile visible role that will have significant exposure to the senior executive management. As a result of this, first class communication skills will be of the utmost importance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage positive business performance through the use of budgeting and strategic planning
  • Deliver the annual strategic plan, budget and forecasting processes
  • Use P&L analysis to produce balance sheet and cash flow forecasts
  • Support the development of existing modelling, planning and forecasting processes, whilst creating ideas of improvement to existing processes.
  • Support projects assigned by the CFO/COO
  • Deliver high-quality Executive Board Reporting and Presentations

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Qualified Accountant with significant PQE (preferably CIMA)
  • Commercial and FP&A experience in an established business with international operations
  • Substantial knowledge of the retail industry
  • Confidence in presenting business presentations and reports
  • Ability and experience in improving financial performance
  • Strong systems skills and experience
  • Natural drive to make a positive contribution within a company that prides itself on it’s ethical and sustainable practice
  • Some international travel may be required
