Director Tax Compliance and Reporting - FTC

The tax function of this market leading tech business is undergoing a change management program. Operationally, the organization is looking to transition many of its in-house tax compliance functions to an out sourced provider and also the preparation of the group's tax provision to the Controllership team. This is in response to the changing tax compliance environment and also to achieve cost efficiencies.

Job spec overview:

• Managing the quarterly and annual tax consolidation and ASC 740 reporting for the group;
• Providing tax input to annual budget and longer-term group forecasts;
• Identification and management of tax compliance risk in the International Markets and the UK
• Global country-by-country reporting and oversight of global transfer pricing documentation

The key areas of focus include:

Reporting:

• At the onset of the role and expected for Q3 2019, the ultimate delivery and oversight of the Group external quarterly and year-end tax reporting processes under US GAAP, including effective tax rate ("ETR") management, provisioning, disclosure, forecasting and cash tax processes. This aspect of the role inevitably involves close engagement with the Groups external auditors.
• As part of this reporting focus, the role has responsibility for the company drive towards an automated bottom-up tax reporting process in the International markets through the Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud System ("TRCS").
• Following Q3 2019, assisting with the transition of the TRCS tax reporting processes under US GAAP to the Group's Controllership team who will be responsible for the initial delivery of the Group external quarterly and year- end tax provision through TRCS. This role will be responsible for the ongoing detailed review of the tax provision and disclosures and continued engagement with the Group's external auditors.

Compliance:

• Oversight of the Group's outsourced arrangements for the tax compliance in International Markets and the UK, including review and responsibility for the filing positions adopted. Since the group is UK head quartered, the role requires substantial UK technical expertise and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:

• Professional accounting qualification with significant tax and reporting experience. Preferably also tax qualified
• Detailed technical accounting knowledge, good financial reporting and analytical skills
• Substantial UK tax technical expertise and experience
• Demonstrable significant PQE including tax compliance, accounting and external tax reporting which will almost certainly include experience in a large PLC or US listed multinational environment
