Working directly with the CEO and wider senior management team, you will be the most senior figure leading the small in-house finance team for this high tech design and manufacturing SME. Responsible for both operational and strategic finance, you must have previously held a Directorship within a similar business as you will play a key part in the pro-active decision making of the company. You will also be expected to help with day to day operational decisions to ensure the best financial outcome. This is an exciting time for the business as they enter a period of change and growth, both financially and in headcount. It is vital you have in-depth M&A and due diligence experience and can evidence previous times you have worked with a variety of investors, stakeholders, overseas partners, parent companies +++.

Due to the nature of the work, it is essential you have experience within the electronics, manufacturing, defence, wireless communications or aerospace sectors and have in depth knowledge of MRP systems and R&D Tax credits. Experience of SYSPRO accounts software would be hugely advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on capable finance professional looking to join a forward thinking progressive environment that is going from strength to strength.

Your role will include but not be limited to the following:

Strategic and Operational tasks

  • Reporting finance information to the senior management team to assist with decision making process.
  • Analysis of finance ratios.
  • Forecasting for budgets.
  • Financial reporting.
  • Managing day to day cash flow.
  • Management accounts.
  • Managing audits.
  • Financial planning.
  • Preparing budgets according to company strategy.
  • Tracking performance against budget.
  • Extensive due diligence.
  • Merger and acquisition responsibilities.
  • KPI reporting.
  • Assessing and analysing risk areas.
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Producing reports for investors and external parties.

Due to the location of this role and nature of their services, you must have a valid UK passport, your own transport. It is also essential you are a fully qualified finance professional
